Founder member, strings and keyboard player in the Rain Parade. When David Roback left the band, Will still stayed for some time. Soon later he followed David to play in Opal and Mazzy Star, where he found a home for a long time. In these two bands he called himself William Cooper. Outside of Mazzy Star he found the time to work with other bands and artists, then still as Will Glenn. |
| On the Rain Parade homepage appeared this sad message: | William Cooper Glenn (1957-2001) We are deeply saddened to announce that William Cooper Glenn passed away from cancer on March 16, 2001, at UCLA Medical Center. He will be remembered for his incomparable musicianship, gifted intellect, loving friendship and keen sense of humor. Will was a founding member of Rain Parade. He also produced and played with Viva Saturn, and was a key member of Opal and Mazzy Star. His superb violin and keyboard playing was always musically inventive. He was an expert at crafting beautiful string arrangements, innovative and surreal keyboard parts, and melancholy yet soulful melodies. He was also an accomplished guitar player and songwriter. Will is survived by his wife, Angela, and son, Henry. He will be missed by all. |
